A child born in the United Kingdom of an Ecuadorian citizen is eligible for dual citizenship and may enjoy the benefits of Ecuadorian as well as British nationality by getting registered at the nearest Ecuadorian Consulate.

 

To register the birth of a child to an Ecuadorian father or mother, the following documents are required (each one original and a copy):

 

Both parents must come to the Consulate for the registration process, each one holding an original Identification. For the Ecuadorian parent it can be the passport or Ecuadorian ID "Cédula"; for a foreign parent it can be a passport.

Certified Copy of an Entry with apostille

 

The registration is free of charge if performed before the child's 18th birthday.
